About the Conscious Publishers
The group „Świadomi Wydawcy” (The Conscious Publishers) was created by the independent publishing house Claroscuro in May 2015 as a response to the lack of bookstores, where the reader could find real books instead of „bestsellers”; books that were published because they were considered important and necessary; books published consciously, for readers, not for clients.
About 50 independent Polish publishers are supporting the idea and the figure is growing.
